CalConnect: the Calendaring and Scheduling Conference, invites you to attend our all-day Public Event at the Hong Kong International ITFest on April 20, 2016
CalConnect PUBLIC DAY
Ever wondered how your phone gets to synchronize calendar events with other systems? CalConnect is the conference of the Calendaring and Scheduling Consortium that develops international standards for calendaring and scheduling systems. Virtually all calendar-related technology standards around the world in the past decade have been developed within CalConnect. Its members include industry behemoths such as Apple, Google, Oracle and IBM.
At CalConnect Public Day you will hear from Hong Kong’s CIO, Ir Allen Yeung, CalConnect officials, and CalConnect’s member representatives, including our Asia/Pacific members about:
- the work they have been doing
- the state of Calendaring & Scheduling (C&S) standards and how to incorporate these standards into your IT
- how CalConnect membership could benefit your organization
- the future of Calendaring & Scheduling (C&S)
You will also have opportunities to meet and talk with our members, those developing tomorrow’s C&S products and standards, and learn how you can participate in and influence this work.
This event is open to the public but registration is required.

About CalConnect
CalConnect: the Calendaring & Scheduling Consortium is a partnership between vendors of calendaring & scheduling systems and tools, and users of those tools. Our focus is interoperable calendaring and scheduling. Through promoting, advising, educating, and the work of our Technical Committees, we advance the state of interoperable calendaring and of interoperable scheduling. Although CalConnect is not a formal standards body, over the last five years, most of the Calendaring standards development and discussion have taken place in CalConnect. Our membership includes some of the world's largest software development organizations, as well as emergent vendors and startups, end user organizations, interested individuals, and research universities.
CalConnect is not only coming to Hong Kong to talk to you, but also to listen to you, to better understand Asia/Pacific IT, Asia Pacific culture, Asia Pacific standards, and to better understand how to serve Asia/Pacific IT, government, and businesses. We cannot achieve our goals of truly interoperable calendaring and scheduling without the participation of the Asia/Pacific region, home to more than half the world’s people.
