REALTIME Technical Committee

Revised Nov 2007

Charter

The goal of the REALTIME Technical Committee is to publish use cases and technical requirements for a real-time protocol that enables interoperability between calendaring and scheduling systems: a protocol that will allow a calendaring and scheduling system to forward a synchronous request to another calendaring and scheduling system on behalf of a calendar user agent and receive a synchronous response. In particular the REALTIME committee will focus on
  • A new URI scheme for scheduling
  • Calendar discovery via a Calendar User Address
  • Technology demonstrations of realtime server-server scheduling
